The event lasted all day, and we were lucky enough to have Rob Broome and Dave Burton along to organise and preside over the proceedings. Teams of two arrived from far and wide, sporting smart team kit and carrying or wheeling in bags and trolleys with their bowls, bowling shoes and other paraphernalia.
It was rather daunting and something of a surprise to us just how professional they all looked! Competition was extremely stiff, but Iris Pugh, from Penybontfawr WI, and her partner Dianne, did remarkably well and took second place! The pairs competing from Llangynog were Val & Janet and Mary & Anne Hill.
Llangynog members provided tea and biscuits at registration, a tasty lunch, and finally tea & cake prior to the finals.
Mary presented the winning teams with their certificates and everyone agreed that a thoroughly enjoyable time was had by all.
