LLANGYNOG CALENDAR GIRLS

Llangynog WI took part in this celebratory Centenary Show performing a ‘Calendar Girls’ skit.
This was very well received by a packed audience!

We were asked to perform a Calendar Girl sketch based on the PMFWI 2015 Calendar, where each month represents a different WI Resolution, as follows:

  • January: Support for the Plumage Bill, 1921
  • February: Board of censors for restricting admission to cinemas for under 15's, 1921
  • March: YFC valuable in Agricultural Educartion, 1925
  • April: To encourage a high level in the teaching of crafts, 1934
  • May: Prevent the widespread destruction of wild flowers, 1937
  • June: Due to world shortage, increase home production and preservation, 1946
  • July: Legislation regarding access to footpaths and the countryside, 1948
  • August: Reclamation, re-use and recycling of waste, 1974
  • September: Public telephone kiosks - vital service in rural areas, 1982
  • October: Public awareness of the difference between the retail price and the price paid to farmers for milk, 2005
  • November: Sport for a healthy population, 2006
  • December: SOS Honey Bees, 2009
