Mother and daughter team, Linda and Lowri Roberts were welcomed by members of Llangynog WI at their October meeting. As a Welsh speaker herself, Lowri recognised a need for a ‘Welsh shop’ in Oswestry, offering a range of cards, mugs, aprons, bags, books and other small gifts, using the Welsh language.

In her talk, Lowri described her vision for this enterprise, and explained how, with the support of her mother and her sister, who has designed many of the items, her dream has become a reality. Members were able to view a bright and interesting display of products available both online and from the shop itself. Local success stories such as this, are indeed an inspiration to us all.

An enjoyable evening was rounded off with a lovely spread provided by Anne Saunders and Val Atherton, and October’s competition was won by Anne Evans.
