Meeting: 11th February, 2015
Conservation Counts!

This is certainly true of Montgomeryshire Wildlife Trust which was clearly demonstrated by Llangynog WI’s guest speaker, Sue Bosson. As an enthusiastic volunteer for the Wildlife Trust, Sue took us on a journey through a year’s programme of volunteers’ events involving such activities as thistle extraction and pulling, hedge-laying, dry stone walling, rhododendron and bracken clearance, flower meadow creation, as well as creating and maintaining wildlife habitats to conserve and secure the future of our environment.

It was obvious from her presentation that the volunteers thoroughly enjoy working as a team, out and about in all seasons; but as Sue pointed out, the sun always shone!

It was a really enjoyable and informative evening, and no doubt some members will be swelling the ranks of volunteers.

Thanks to Pam and Mary for providing a tasty supper, during which two new members, Val Atherton and Maggie Parker, were welcomed into our ranks, by our longest-serving member, Cath Williams.

This month’s competition: ‘Photograph of Flowers’
