Rain, storms and power-cuts, resulted in the unfortunate last minute cancellation of our official February meeting. However, undaunted, we convened an unofficial meeting later in the month. Even though we didn’t have a speaker it was a long and productive meeting, with a number of outstanding matters discussed and resolved.

We began the meeting by observing a minute’s silence in remembrance of ‘Aunty’ Winnie Richards and her husband Evan, who sadly passed away earlier in the month. Years ago, Winnie had been a very active member of our W.I. and continued to take a keen interest by writing up our monthly reports for ‘Yr Ysgub’. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all members, past and present.

On a happier note, Anne Evans was presented with a Certificate, and congratulated, for her achievement in becoming Llangynog W.I. Overall Competition winner for 2013!
