Hope House

A Haven

Business completed, and on a warm April evening, members of Llangynog Berwyn Belles WI welcomed Vicky Bradbeer from Hope House Children’s Hospices.

Vicky described the many ways in which Hope House helps local children and their families in their times of real need. Children with life threatening conditions are given the opportunity to live their best lives in a safe, bright and stimulating environment and their families are given invaluable support throughout these very difficult times.

Vicky explained that there is indeed joy, laughter and giggling as children experience the facilities provided by Hope House, enabling families to build precious memories.

Fund raising is essential to pay for all the services provided from palliative care, clinical expertise, nursing, counselling as well as all the facilities, and members were able to learn about the ways in which the financial targets are achieved.

What a privilege to have such a dedicated team of people in our area! The evening was rounded off with a tasty supper where members were able to speak to Vicky individually.

The raffle prize, a delicious Easter egg, was donated by Lesley & won by Ann Marsh.
