Meeting: 14th May, 2025 |
On each table were intriguing looking coils of fine copper wire and bags of shiny beads. Ineke Swankhuisen, speaker for the evening, and her assistant Christine, had also assembled an impressive display of wire and bead items - delicate dragonflies, flowers, hearts, suns and many more, for members to examine.
A selection of Ineke’s work for members to see, and purchase if they wished.
Following a short explanatory talk by Ineke, members started the careful work of threading beads onto fine wire and twisting the wire to make shafts of beaded light on their suns, as Ineke and Christine advised and helped members achieve some beautiful items.
Concentration and deft finger work meant that following a tasty supper, members were able to take home some really fine examples of wire and bead work.
By the end of the evening each member had made a lovely beaded sun catcher. This activity was very much enjoyed by all the members.
A lovely raffle prize (beautiful candle and yummy chocolate) was donated by Gail and won by Hazel.
And a very tasty supper was prepared by Group B
Finally, a big thank you and Happy Birthday to Debbie who makes all our beautiful, hand-crafted, greetings cards. Pam presented her with a card on behalf of us all.
