Regency Rules

Regency rituals came to Llangynog WI May Open Evening, as members and visitors were taken into the Regency era through the dance and music of Gracechurch Historic Dancers.

The dancers, in historically accurate costumes, and in role throughout the evening, in a way befitting Regency etiquette, were accompanied by an ensemble of talented musicians, similarly attired.

The dancers behaved with confidence, charm and ease throughout the evening, always displaying an air of modesty and calm, even when members of the audience were encouraged to take part in the dancing.

It was a very enjoyable evening, taking all present, back to a time when social conventions were adhered to more readily than today.

The evening was enjoyed not only by Llangynog members, but by members of other local WIs and of course by visitors from the local community.

A tasty and tasteful supper was then enjoyed by the ladies and gentlemen present.
Teas and coffees available from the bar area.

A very successful raffle was held by Debbie and Sheila.

Llangynog WI members get into the spirit of things by dressing-up for the occasion!
