Meeting: 12th July, 2023

July

Revealing Writing

On Wednesday 12th July, Pam was asked to open the meeting by reading her poem, entitled ‘In my garden’, which won 1st prize in the 2021 Literary Eisteddfod!

Then, following a short but lively business agenda, members of Llangynog WI listened intently as their speaker, graphologist, Anne Cummings, analysed members’ handwriting.

Members had been asked to anonymously submit a specimen of their handwriting. Anne projected each sample onto a screen and one by one explained how details of the layout of each script, the formation of letters and their slant and connectivity, denoted aspects of personality, providing a psychological profile of character and expectations.

Ann with her latest book entitled ‘Emotional Healing’.

It was an extremely interesting and thought-provoking evening with members trying to guess who the owner of each script actually was. A delicious supper, provided by a Anne Hill, Anne Evans and Ann Morgan, followed, with members no doubt pondering the insight into their character that Anne had revealed from their sample.

Competition: Design a border using letters of the alphabet.

1st Anne Hill, 2nd Maureen Clarke, 3rd Christine Norwell.

Raffle: The raffle prize, to be donated by Jennie Eilbeck, was won by Wendy Barker.
