On April 12th members welcomed Nigel Iskander, ex Fleet Street journalist/photographer, who entertained with stories about the famous people he had met and infamous characters one would rather not. He told us of his journey to becoming a journalist, including stories from his diary some of which members remembered hearing about on the news.

His talk was informative and interesting, and covered his experiences in journalism from the 1970’s to the present day; some shocking and some funny.

A very tasty supper was provided by Chris, Anne Saunders and Sivadhara.

Invitation to a Meifod Meeting

Anne Hill and Joanne had, earlier in the month, gone along to Meifod WI to hear their speaker, Sarah Thursfield, on the subject of: ‘What Medieval Women REALLY wore on their heads?’

They found the talk very interesting and also took the opportunity to try on some of the hats and headwear!
