Llangynog WI’s December meeting was a busy one with all members acting as hostesses and arrangements being made for the Christmas meal out.

After business was concluded, our guest speaker, Bronwen Lloyd, set up her cake decorating table with icings of varying colours and textures. We learned about how to make and use the different types of icings, and watched as Bronwen created wonderful Christmas designs and magical winter scenes.

Holly, penguins, candles, fir trees, snowflakes... all expertly modelled from fondant icing which was rolled, twisted, & cut using everyday kitchen objects, creating a wonderful display of decorated cakes. Modelling our own little snowmen, including hats and carrot noses, was for us the highlight of the evening!

Our fondant snowmen will, no doubt, be adorning many a Christmas cake in Llangynog this year! Members look forward to meeting-up again in January, and hope to welcome new members.
