Meeting: 12th November, 2014
November Night

The year seems to have passed so quickly and here we were again holding our AGM. Our treasurer, Pauline Nicholls stepped down from her post after fourteen years, and was thanked for all the hard work she has put in. Pauline will be giving advice and support to our new treasurer, Jan Gill, as she takes over the role.

Members came forward with some interesting ideas for activities, visits and speakers, and Hazel Owen’s suggestion of a visit to Abbey Cwm Hir Hall, was judged to be most popular and won this month’s competition. Cath Williams, as Social Secretary, found all the suggestions very useful.

Members reported back after attending the NFWI –Wales Centenary Craft Panel Meeting, and we look forward to taking part in this unique project. Those members who attended the Annual Council Meeting in Welshpool thoroughly enjoyed listening to Sheila Dibnah, and also catching up with WI business. Llangynog WI was pleased to receive a cup for gaining joint third in the Eisteddfod Literary Competition. Mary McKenzie was awarded first place for her story!

The raffle prize, a decorative flowering plant, was donated by Anne Evans and won by Cath Williams. Pauline Wilson provided a tasty selection of sandwiches and savouries, and the cakes were brought in by Janet.
