Meeting: 8th October, 2014 |
No, not Keats, but Becca Morris! After WI business, Llangynog WI welcomed the evening’s guest speaker Becca Morris, who arrived laden with an abundance of greenery and autumn flowers from her garden. During the evening Becca created three imaginative and informal floral displays, using colour and shape with real effect. Members learned how to use everyday objects to produce beautiful arrangements, and were given a number of useful tips on how to make the most of autumn’s colours. Everyone enjoyed the evening enormously.
Later in the evening, Becca joined members whilst they enjoyed a delicious supper prepared by Jennie Eilbeck and Hazel Owen. The raffle prize, a delightful cockerel doorstop, was donated my Mary McKenzie and won by Janet Burton. This month’s competition, entitled ‘Flower Arrangement in a Jug’, was judged by Becca Morris and the deserving winner was Anne Saunders. Members will have to wait until December to discover the identity of this year’s overall winner, which will be announced during the Christmas Meal night out.
