Meeting: 13th February, 2019
Nature's Inspiration

On a rather dull February evening, members of Llangynog WI were taken on a fascinating journey through the life and works of William Morris by speaker, Sue Bosson.

Novelist, poet, translator, artist, socialist activist and founder of the Arts and Crafts Movement in Britain, Morris created some of the most beautiful and iconic textile patterns.

Sue demonstrated how his knowledge and love of nature inspired his designs, from Tulip and Willow to Strawberry Thief to Cabbage and Vine in wallpapers and fabrics today. A thoroughly interesting talk and enjoyable evening was rounded off with a tasty supper.
