The speaker/demonstrator for December was artist and former head teacher John Parkinson. John, who took up painting after retiring, produced a complete mountain and lake landscape from scratch, whilst delivering a series of stories and jokes. As the painting progressed, he described the various techniques used.

The finished painting, which was donated by John as an additional raffle prize, was won by Janet. Other raffle prizes were donated by Stella.

Everyone contributed towards a tasty Christmas party supper.
