Meeting: 13th September, 2017
‘Tis Time for Tai Chi!

‘Twas a wet and windy night when members of Llangynog WI met-up for their September meeting. Teacher of Tai Chi, and speaker for the evening, Janet Edwards, described the recognised health benefits of learning and regularly practising the art of Tai Chi. She explained that both traditional and modern Tai Chi has its origins in defence training, and that today this ancient art is spread worldwide.

Everyone enjoyed taking part in a warm-up session which involved holding a variety of different positions and balances. This was followed by members being taken through a series of moves, such as ‘eagle’, ‘bear’ and ‘monkey’ which flowed seamlessly from one to the other. A tranquil and meditative atmosphere was created in the hall leaving members feeling calm and relaxed… and ready for the tasty refreshments which followed!

The supper was prepared by Jan Gill and Anne Saunders, and was enjoyed by all.

The raffle prize, a lovely manicure set, was donated by Jennie and won by Wendy.
