Meeting with Glyn Davies MP regarding A & E provision

On Friday 20th October, Glyn Davies MP met with members of Llangynog and other local WIs to explain the background to, and the present situation of, the future siting of the Accident & Emergency Department of the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Trust. Health bosses are at present deciding which town, Shrewsbury or Telford, should retain its A & E.

The meeting felt that the Llangynog area and Mid Wales in general, would be better served with the A & E being located at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital with the understanding that the Future Fit Programme proposes that urgent care centres would operate at both Shrewsbury and Telford.

A full public consultation is due to commence in November and members were urged to make their feelings felt by letter or email once the date of public consultation is given.
