Llangynog members attend courses at Denman College
Val Atherton and Janet Burton made use of a WI bursary to put towards courses at Denman College. Although they were there together (27th to 29th January) they were enrolled on different courses. Janet did a watercolour and ink, painting course and Val, along with Janet’s husband Dave, did a course on digital photography.

All three thoroughly enjoyed their time at Denman and felt they had learnt an awful lot.

“Just a few thoughts about my trip to Denman…

I chose to take the photography course at Denman, particularly to improve my ability to use my bridge camera.

The course addressed this need and taught me a lot more besides The tutor was friendly and interested in the needs of all members of the group. He made the sessions enjoyable and informative. We were a group of ten, all willing to help and support each other. We spent a lot of time taking photos and were lucky enough to have bright sunny weather.

The accommodation was comfortable and homely. It was a delight to have so many items in the room made by W.I. members.

Meals were in the main house and the food was good. The ambiance of the sitting room and bar was lovely.

All in all, a really enjoyable experience, of course made more enjoyable because I went with friends.”
