Penybontfawr WI invites us to their January meeting (Jan 3rd 2017)
Members of Penybontfawr WI very kindly invited us to their January meeting where we were treated to a fascinating painting demonstration.
The artist, former head teacher John Parkinson, took up oil painting after retiring from teaching. He is now so proficient that he is able to run classes and give demonstrations!
John produced a complete painting from scratch, as well as delivering a series of amusing anecdotes, stories and jokes. We watched, intrigued, as the painting developed and he explained the various techniques he was using.
After the demonstration we were treated to some delicious cakes and a cuppa.
Finally, the painting was raffled… and won by Anne Evans!
