At their April meeting members of Llangynog WI were given an insight into the concept of natural burial by speaker Eira Humphrey from Green Lane Burial Field and Nature Reserve. Natural burials have been increasing in popularity over the last ten years, allowing greater choice and participation for family and friends at a difficult time.

The burial field itself is managed in conjunction with Montgomeryshire Wildlife Trust with the objective of recreating a traditional hay meadow, rich in wild flowers and bulbs, and bordered by ancient woodland.

Eira gave an uplifting talk on a serious subject... and possibly had a few converts to this green option.
