Meeting: 13th January, 2016
A Heartfelt Message

Llangynog WI members welcomed Ken Raines, a local qualified first-aid instructor, to their January meeting. Having recently acquired a defibrillator in the village, it was felt important to learn as much as possible in order to have the confidence to use it.

Ken arrived armed with numerous items of equipment, which he used to carefully explain and demonstrate both CPR, and how to use the defibrillator. Members had many questions which Ken answered clearly and informatively. He delivered a heartfelt message that no-one should be afraid to use the new defibrillator if the need arose.

By the end of his talk members had a greater understanding how a defibrillator actually works, and much more confidence in their ability to use it.

The evening was rounded off with a particularly tasty supper prepared by Jan Gill and Wendy Barker.

The raffle prize, an attractive plant, was donated by Val Atherton and won by Pam Parnell.
