Meeting: 12th February, 2025 |
Business concluded, members of Llangynog WI seated themselves at tables equipped with coloured felting wool, felting needles, working blocks and design papers, as Berwyn Belle member, Anne Hill, expertly demonstrated felting techniques. She then showed members her examples of the Spring Creatures they were about to create!
Those members without felting experience would make chicks, those with some experience sheep and those more confident, rabbits.
A concentrated hush took over the hall as members worked on their felt creatures and Anne busied herself helping and advising.
The finished Spring Creatures were all entered into this month’s competition.
First place: Julia Foley
Second Place: Izzy Roberts
Third Place: Petrina Kingham
All the chicks, lambs and rabbits, sat on wooden discs with a green heart attached for members to write the name of their creature on.
Llangynog Berwyn Belles, and WI members across Wales, turned their February meetings green once again this year by taking part in the Climate Coalition's "Show the Love" campaign.
We all wore green and also, of course, included green hearts in our crafting work!
Marie Owen made this lovely green heart bunting and kindly donated it to our WI!
Members wear green!
A tasty supper was provided by group B.
The raffle prize was donated by Gwenfyl and won by Janice
What a fun evening and no one would go home alone!
A tasty supper followed as members delighted in examining and commenting on such an interesting display of felted friends.
