Meeting: 14th February, 2024 |
Every February, since 2015, people from across the UK use the power of green hearts to join together and ask politicians to put aside their differences and tackle the climate crisis.
A flurry of activity met members of Llangynog WI as they entered the memorial hall for their February meeting. There were rows of plant pots, trays of small pots of acrylic paint, of all colours, tiny paint brushes and jars of water, with local artists Pam Parnell and Anne Hill busily checking that all was ready for the evening's event.
Having completed business, Pam gave a brief explanation of primary, secondary and tertiary colours before giving out her plain or pre-designed, 'Show the Love' heart-themed pots to members, before they started painting their pots.
Periods of hushed silence as members concentrated on careful painting but what a splendid display at the end of the evening.
Members, many wearing green and sporting green heart stickers, worked tirelessly until their pots were complete.
There were no birthdays this month, but Debbie, presented Mary a belated gift of a sweatshirt (for her 80th birthday) on behalf of all Llangynog members.
Mary thanked everyone and immediately put it on!
The competition this month, in line with the heart theme, was to design and make a Valentine Card.
