Felting Fun

A wet and rather muggy November evening outside, members of Llangynog WI
gathered in the Memorial Hall for the Annual Meeting, which, smoothly and swiftly conducted,
allowed members to be seated at tables to take part in the evening’s activity.

Llangynog’s own Anne Hill gave a brief history of the recent art of needle felting,
explaining that felting itself has been around since Neolithic times.

A fabulous display of Anne’s work

Anne deftly demonstrated the technique of needle felting and provided
a varied display of needle felted brooches for members to examine.

Everyone was able to choose a blank felt brooch prepared in advance, from a wide range of colours and with the use of stencils, needles and coloured felting wool, members were encouraged to design and produce their own unique brooch.

Thank you Anne! What fun! What concentration! What laughter too!
