ROCKY HORROR SHOW

On 12th April, ten members plus three partners, went to see The Rocky Horror Show at Theatre Severn.

This musical differs from most others in that there is a huge amount of audience dressing up! Some dress as characters from the show, some dress as their own characters & some just wear something kinky or unusual.

Members, Jennie, Janet and Stella bravely donned costume for the occasion.

This strange musical is about a newly engaged couple, Janet and Brad, getting caught in a storm and coming to the home of a mad transvestite scientist, Dr. Frank-n-Furter. The story unfolds with musical numbers and quirky characters.

Throughout the performance there are gaps in the dialogue to enable members of the audience to call out a response. These audience ‘callbacks’ are all part of the Rocky Horror experience, meaning there is as much ‘theatre’ from the audience as there is on stage.

The Rocky Horror Show was first performed in 1973 and still pushes boundaries more than 50 years on!

A really enjoyable evening was had by all!

Thanks went to Chris and Maureen for organising not only the theatre but transport by minibus too.
