Literary Eisteddfod & Spring Show

May

Congratulations all round!

There were congratulations all round when it was announced that this year Llangynog had not only retained the Montgomery Cup for their Spring Show craft entries, but had reclaimed the Shield in the Literary Eisteddfod as well!

As well as these successes, huge congratulations go to Pam Parnell for her funny poem about a WI Meeting which gained 2nd place in the Doreen Jones Competition! Well done!

Llangynog WI was also congratulated on reaching its 85th anniversary this year!

Well, what a successful afternoon at the PMFWI Spring Show with Llangynog WI retaining the Montgomery Cup for the most points for Craft!

Maureen got a First and Best in Show, plus the Ella Owen vase for her Magical Landscape painting! Joanne Hill gained a well-deserved First Place for her fabulous ‘Fantasy’ drawing!

Well done to Chris Norwell, who was awarded Third Place for her colourfully crafted table runner!

Anne Hill had two firsts, one with a rosette for her Magical Figure and one with a rosette and Best in Show Certificate, plus the Centenary Cup for her Magic Mushrooms!

The shield has come home!
Literary Eisteddfod Success!

A huge thank you went to all the winners and to EVERYONE who entered!

As well as all the winning entries, Llangynog WI gained a point for every item entered, thus enabling us to easily beat our friends and rivals, Penybontfawr WI, into second place!
