British Ironwork Centre

9th September

Gwenfyl Williams, Mary McKenzie, Chris Norwell, Anne Hill, Janet Burton and Joanne Hill, together with partners, Stephen, Dave, and Mike, enjoyed a visit to the British Ironworks, followed by a tasty meal at the Queen’s Head, where they were joined by Anne Saunders.

The day was mostly dry but there were a few sharp showers!

The well-known Knife Angel was out on tour,
but we did see the famous Spoon Gorilla!
This 12ft-high statue features about 40,000 spoons
and took almost five months to build.

We visited the shop and café, of course, and most of us managed to find a little something to purchase

At 4pm the party made its way to the Queens Head for some more refreshment. Here, we were delighted to be joined by Anne Saunders! We also saw Maureen and Dave who were out for a meal with friends.

Everyone enjoyed a splendid meal rounded off with coffee.
