WI Centenary Celebration - Bell Ringing!

On September 16th this year, to celebrate exactly 100 years to the day since the very first Women's Institute was founded, church bells were rung across the nation!

Here in Llangynog, Enid Jones, who had been an active member of our WI for very many years, rang the bells in St. Cynog's Church, on our behalf. The bells were rung at 7.15pm (that is 19.15) to represent the year 1915 - the year it all began!

We sang Jerusalem and enjoyed some light refreshment, during which members reminisced whilst looking at old WI photos, which Enid had very kindly brought along to show us.
