Beauty, Brains, Innovation and Sex
A cold and frosty evening outside, but despite social distancing
a friendly, welcoming atmosphere greeted our speaker local resident, Stephen Hill.
Members were intrigued to hear of the amazing life and achievements of the actress Hedy Lamarr. Described once as the most beautiful woman in the world, Hedy was an inventor who pioneered the technology that today forms the basis for WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth communications!
The title of the talk itself, "Beauty , brains , innovation and sex", prepared members for a fascinating talk!
The raffle prize, which included a lovely cushion, was provided by Anne Saunders and won by Anne Hill. who was delighted with her prize!
As ever, the evening was rounded off with a tasty supper, enjoyed by all.
Wendy and Pam provided the refreshments, which were delicious, and thanks also went to Mary for providing and serving the tea and coffee.
