Guest speaker, Maggie McFee, talked about and demonstrated the fundamentals of Somatic Exercise. Somatic Movement involves a series of specific exercises that reconnect the brain with the muscles so you can let go of tightness in the body. The movements are slow and mindful, and are performed on the floor, so your body is more comfortable and isn't fighting against gravity. Members enjoyed trying out some of the moves whether from a sitting position or on the floor.
Raffle: A useful exercise water bottle was donated by Anne Hill and won by Helen.
A very tasty supper was provided by Jan & Helen.
